Kristian Sturi (Gorizia, 1983). He lives and works in Cormòns (Gorizia). After graduating from the "Max Fabiani" Art Institute in Gorizia, he earned a Degree in Art History from the University of Trieste. Sturi’s work denies the viewer a static or definitive vantage point, from which to perceive/read the surfaces. It is only by changing position, observing, moving and breaking the unity of the gaze, that his materials and volumes fully reveal themselves in their totality – a challenging interplay where the same conditions never recur. Indeed, Sturi moves fluidly from the production of three-dimensional objects – glazed ceramics featuring tribal and erotic motifs – to a more strictly visual production, employing glitter, smoke canisters and tinted films to highlight the physical boundaries of the two-dimensional plane.Kristian Sturi (Gorizia, 1983).
