Nicola Facchini is an Italian artist born in 1990. He is active on both national and international scenes, having participated in a series of exhibitions in Beijing, Rome, Vienna, Venice, and Tirana, among others.
His artistic production spans painting, drawing and sculpture. Navigating through post- impressionist, expressionist, Baconian and conceptualist influences, the unsettling visions expressed in his art often give way to a witty and irreverent conception of life. It is precisely through a tragic yet humorous lens – reminiscent of Pirandello – that the artistic spirit of each work manifests itself.
Having graduated in Painting in 2015 from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, Facchini launched his career in contemporary art with a vibrant pictorial style characterized by expressive traits, where vivid hues are juxtaposed with darker tones.
Unsettling visions and solitary figures alternate with still lives, allowing a melancholic existentialism to surface without renouncing a veil of irony, often conveyed through the wit of his titles. This irreverence is even more pronounced in his sculptural production – biting, mocking and colourful – which highlights a sarcastic attitude and a highly personal style.
The artist is a co-founder of the Fondazione Malutta collective, with which he has exhibited on the Italian and international art scene since 2015. Alongside his collaborative projects, he has also held several solo exhibitions in Venice and Trieste, as well as in Baselga di Pinè (Trento) and Rijeka.
